Curt TriFlex Brake Controller # C24VV Installation in 2014 GMC Acadia
Question:
I own a GMC Acadia 2014 SE1 and I am in need of a 7-way Trailer Connector. After doing some researchon internet, I see all the items needed on the GMC to make this a plug-n-play installation. Connector by Park Brake, Connector rear of pass. side tire well, Trlr fuse position Just empty. So to make this complete will these three items do the trick for me: can provide photos. C51140 - Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional C51422 - Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In 118271 - T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector. The sad part is I did not realize, I may have the Tow-Ready on the Acadia and have been using C56202 for my other trailer for months. 4-plug only - I guess having both will not be a problem.

To install the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller # C24VV in a 2014 GMC Acadia without factory trailer connector you will need the brake controller unit and wiring harness, parts # C24VV and # C51515, along with a brake controller install kit, part # ETBC7. Your vehicle needs to have a working 4-pole flat connector in order to install the # ETBC7. The 4-pole plugs into the supplied 7-way.
If your Acadia has the tow package with factory 7-way you will not need the # ETBC7.
GMC no longer provides a quick-connect port under the dash for brake controllers so you will locate the cut wires under the left side of the instrument panel to the left of the steering column and connect these to the wires on the Curt harness as detailed in the linked article. The article covers each step of the process. If there IS a brake controller port under the dash you can use harness # 3026-P.
