Troubleshooting Brake Controller Installation On 2011 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
I used the factory pig tail that is hard wired to the truck to install my brake controller and I dont think that the cruise control switch is attached to the factory pigtail. Please let me know if the factory pigtail has a Cruise control wire on it. Dont understand why they would install the cruise control cut off wire on the trailer brake controller harness. The cruise control stopped working when installed. I was told it could be my brake switch is faulty.

Since there is no plug for a brake controller under the dash you will need to hard wire the controller as shown in the attached installation video for a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. It sounds like you have attached one of the wires from the brake controller during installation to the cruise control wire.
As the video shows the wires should be attached as follows:
Truck Red Wire to brake controller Black
Truck Dark Blue to Blue
Truck Light Blue or Orange to Red
Truck White to White.
I have attached a helpful article that explains how to install a brake controller on a Chevrolet Silverado 2007 - 2013.
You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, to test by function and not by color to make sure you have the correct wire.
