Carrying a Mobility Scooter with 2008 Dodge Caliber
Question:
Do you sell scooter carriers with a 1 1/4 hitch size?
asked by: BOB M
Expert Reply:
Although we don't have a carrier that would be compatible with any of the hitches available for your Caliber, we do have a solution that would allow you to transport your scooter. Your best bet for transporting the scooter with that vehicle would be to use a small utility trailer like # K2MMT5X7.
To set your vehicle up for towing, you'd first need to install a hitch. As long as your Caliber isn't an SRT-4 model, you could use the Draw-Tite Class I hitch, part # 24769. The hitch does not includ the ball mount. You'd also need the correct trailer ball. For a 2 inch ball, use # 19258 or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. You'll also need a trailer wiring harness like part # 118552.
