Installing Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller on 2005 Chevy Avalanche

Question:

Trying to wire a Tekonsha voyager brake controller to my 05 avalanche z71, but first to a 7way connector that is listed as dk blue- Trailer brake Controller Switched Output, Red- Fused trailer Brake controller Battery feed LT Blue- Vehicle Stop Lamp Witch to Brake controller input BLK- Brake controller ground Brownn- Brake Controller Illumination. I think I have it wired right by diagram provided, but I cannot get power to brake. I have a 30 amp fuse in UH electrical housing in stud 2 for trailer brake however stud one is a dummy fuse. It has a 40 amp fuse with it not sure if I need to replace one of the ones in or not.

Did you use a wiring adapter like the # 3015-P to connect the brake controller to the vehicle? You're not getting power to the trailer brakes, or you're not getting power to the brake controller?

If power isn't reaching the controller, and the 30-amp fuse under the hood is in place and not blown, make sure the power stud next to that 30-amp fuse has a red wire connected to it, which supplies power to the brake controller.

If power is reaching the controller and is being output on the blue wire which leads to the 7-way trailer connector, use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check the pin in the 5:00 position on the trailer connector while a helper pulls the manual brake slider on the brake controller. If the power is leaving the controller up front, but not reaching the connector, there is a break in the wire or a loose connection between the controller and the trailer connector. You can also check the trailer connector for corrosion or damage. If you can see green or white corrosion on any of the pins in the connector, it's possible that the corrosion has spread to the interior of the connector and is preventing the voltage from reaching the trailer.

Please look into those possibilities. I've also linked you to our brake controller troubleshoot guide.
