To install a trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 in your 2006 F-150 that has a 4-pole trailer connector you can use quick-connect adapter # 3035-P to connect the controller to the under-dash port on the truck. This connection will provide power and brake signals to the controller and route its output to the trailer. You will also need part # 37185 to provide the 7-way socket. The linked photo shows how to wire # 37185.
I have also included both a video and article concerning brake controller installation in an F-150. You will need to make additional connections to the 7-way as detailed in the linked article. You will find these wires on the driver's side frame rail under the vehicle.
