Installing Curt Venturer Brake Controller # C74VV on 2008 Chevy Trailblazer w/ Factory Tow Package

Question:

I have factory tow package on my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer.I need to know where the under the dash port is and what it looks like? Will this unit plug in to it? I think it has a 30 amp fuse in the location marked trailer? Also, is there anything else I will have to do? Thank you.

The Trailblazer doesn't have a connector under the dash, the tow package wiring is four bare wires located under the dash. To access the wires, you'll need to unscrew the under dash panel and locate the wiring harness as shown in the video I linked.

To connect your Curt Venturer brake controller, you'd use the # C51515 and use butt connectors to attach to the tow package wires as shown in the video.

If your Trailblazer has the 7-way trailer connector, all you'll need to do is attach the controller to the dash and wire it up. If you don't have the 7-way, you can install one using part # 74682, which would plug into the wiring harness behind the rear bumper.
