Can Curt RV Bumper 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 Tow a 14-Foot Aluminum Boat
Question:
Hi there, can I tow a 14foot aluminum fishing boat behind my 2003 22foot Travelaire Rustler with a 4x4 bumper, using the Curt E-100? It is legal in my province, so I just need to know if the E-100 is sufficient. thanks!

Expert Reply:
The Curt specialty hitch you referenced, # E-100, will fit a 4-inch square RV bumper and offers a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350-lbs and a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 3500-lbs.
If your boat and trailer's tongue and gross weights are within these limits then the hitch will be up to the task. The other thing you need to check is the Rustler's manual to see if it indicates any restrictions for the bumper itself for use with a bolt-on hitch. The bumper itself as well as the hitch has to have enough capacity for your boat/trailer load.
