Problem With 7-Way Socket for 5th Wheel on 2011 GMC Sierra
Question:
i am having a problem with my rv plug for my fifth wheel on my truck.this is my second replacement plug as the ground blade keeps coming out when i disconnect from my fifth wheel.the blade will be stuck in the fifth wheel plug in. the dealer has no idea why? do you have idea why, as buying a new plug every trip out is to expensive.

It seems odd that one pin on your Sierra's 5th wheel 7-way socket would repeatedly come loose after use. I suspect there may be a problem with the male plug end on your trailer. Perhaps that contact is bent, corroded or otherwise damaged in such as way that it grabs hold of the ground contact in the truck socket when removed. I would carefully inspect the trailer's male plug contacts for any signs of damage that could cause it to pull out the ground contact.
If you need a replacement I suggest Hopkins # 41157 which allows for a truck bed 7-way socket in addition to the standard socket at your bumper.
