Wiring Harness to Install a p2 Trailer Brake Controller on a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali
Question:
Is a prodigy 2 and a Tekonsha prodigy 2 the same brake controller? If I purchase from a friend a Prodigy 2 brake controller, what adapter will I need to hook it up in a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali? My cord from trailer to plug in near hitch on tow vehicle is a 6 pin?

The P2, Prodigy 2, Tekonsha P2 or Prodigy 2 are all the same brake controller, # 90885. We usually just call it the P2. For your 2002 GMC Yukon Denali and the P2 brake controller you would need harness # 3025-P.
It is possible that you have a 6-Way connector on your Yukon. A 6-Way will have round pins, like # PK12720. But you might actually have a 7-Way blade style, such as # PK11893 which has 6 outside pins and one center pin.
Either set up does have a brake output circuit so the controller would work either way.
It is possible that you will plug in the controller and wiring harness and the controller will not work. If this happens then you will need to make some connections under the hood. I have linked a help article to the right that explains this for you.
