Availability of Goose Neck Hitches for 2001 Ford F-250 Long-bed and 2013 Ford F-150 Short-bed
Question:
I have a 2001 F2508ft bed and a 2013 F-150 6.5ft bed. I am in the need to add a gooseneck hitch to both of these vehicles. Is there a brand that has a hitch for both of these vehicles and also provide a common fifth wheel adapter? I am planning on doing the installation myself. Thanks in advance. Regards.

We do have several options for goose neck hitches for both model years and versions of your Ford F-series pickups, however there is no one model that will fit both trucks. I have provided links for each truck that will show you all compatible goose neck hitches.
While adapters do provide a handy way to tow a 5th wheel with a goose neck hitch, most have drawbacks. Some adapters will induce stress in the trailer frame. Others may provide less-than-ideal ride quality. Please refer to the linked article for more on adapters.
If you happen to choose B and W hitches for both vehicles, part # BWGNRK1108 for the 2001 long bed and # BWGNRK1104 for the 2013 short bed, you can use one 5th wheel sliding hitch from B and W that will not require adapters and will deliver superior towing safety and performance. Hitch # BWRVK3400 will work with both trucks and goose necks. Please see the linked video.
In your long bed you will want to use the slider only in its forward locked position.
