Brake Controller Install on 2004 Ford F150 with Factory 7-way Trailer Connector

Question:

If I buy brake controller Code 90195 -3035P for my 2004 F150, why do I need to also but item 118247? I already have a brake controller I am replacing and have a 7 pin connector on the back of my truck?

If your F150 already has a functional 7-way, all you'll need to install a brake controller would be the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195 and the wiring adapter, 3035-P.

If your truck only had the 4-pole trailer connector instead, you could then use the # 118247 to install a functioning 7-way.

The connector under the dash is located above and a bit to the right of the OBD port, just above where the driver's right knee would be.

I've linked you to an install video that you might find helpful.
