How to Ground the LED Submersible Light part # STL8RB
Question:
My boat trailer light has only a brown and green wire. I notice that the replace unit contains a ground or third wire. Will this affect my installing the LEDs thanks

The LED Submersible Light part # STL8RB that you referenced would work perfectly for you. You would match the brown and green color wires of the assembly to the brown and green wires of your trailer and then would run the white wire to a clean metal surface that touches your trailer frame. This is the ground circuit.
Your old light assemblies probably grounded through the mounting hardware. If so, you could just put the ring terminal of the white wire on one of the mounting studs of the light assembly before bolting it to your trailer and you would be good to go.
I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out also.
