Can Power Wire for Trailer Wiring Harness be Connected to 12 Volt Outlet on 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

I am planning to install in a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan. This SUV has a standard automotive 12V outlet within the cargo area right near tail lights is it okay to tap into the wiring for the 12V outlet to power the unit? Rather than running wire all the way up to the battery?

No. The issue is that wiring harnesses # 119250KIT is tested and rated for a connection to the battery only. Installing them using any other method could cause undesired operation. Also, if connected to a 12 volt outlet, you will lose that level of circuit protection between your 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan and the trailer.
