Installing a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2006 Ford F-150 without Factory Tow Package
Question:
I have an 06 f150 without the tow package, but I have to port under the dash for the brake controller, was just curious if I need a circuit breaker since I have this plug under the dash for my brake controller and electric brakes

The 2006 Ford F-150 should have that port under the dash for a brake controller even if it doesn't have the factory tow package. You just have to make sure that the fuses related to it are in place. Use the truck owners manual to find the locations of any fuses and relays that may be required. Relays will need to be obtained from a Ford dealer if required and not present.
If the truck has a factory 4-Way connector but not a 7-Way you will also need # 37185. I have included a link to a help article that explains how to install # 37185 on your truck. The wiring for # 37185 is present under the truck just not ran all the way to the back. The link explains how to make the connections.
