What are the 3 Different Breakers for in 7-Way Kit ETBC7
Question:
i just ordered this kit and watched the video on a install for a 2008 fj crusier. in video you say the 1 st breaker is the 40 amp, but you never say what the 2nd breaker is rated at. the kit comes with 3 breakers. what should the 2nd breaker be. i assume the 3rd one is an extra, i will be ordering some of your chrome add ons in the near future. very nice way too dress up a sharp fj! thanks for your time, regards,

The first breaker, for the 12V Power wire, is a 40amp. This wire runs back to the 7-Way and supplies power to the trailer. If you want a lower rated breaker, you can swap this out for one of the others.
The reason we have both a 20amp and 30amp included is because some brake controllers call for a 30amp power supply and others a 20amp. Check the instructions for your brake controller and see if it needs a 30amp or 20amp circuit.
Some people also convert the center post of the 7-Way into a second power source instead of the reverse lights, so there would be a third breaker if you wanted to do this. If you write back with the model brake controller you have, I can find out which amperage breaker needs to be used.
