The correct base plates for the 2014 Honda CR-V are # RM-521567-4 and they are compatible with the Stowmaster tow bar. The base plates you referenced, # 521190-1, are for a Honda Fit and would not work on your CR-V. The Honda CR-V is one of the more popular vehicles to flat tow. Just be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing it.

In addition to the base plates and tow bar you will also need safety cables, # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.

For lighting you have a couple of options. If you will not be towing the CR-V very often I recommend a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120. Or if you will be towing the vehicle often I recommend a more permanent solution, diode kit # 154-792-118158.

It also looks like you will need to pull a fuse to avoid draining the battery on the CR-V while it is being towed. The owners manual should have more information on this. To make it as easy as flipping a switch I recommend the fuse bypass # RM76511.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It will apply the CR-V brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
