Wiring Needed to Equip 2010 Toyota RAV4 With 7-Way for Use with Brake Controller
Question:
Hi. Im looking for an electrical harness for a 2010 Toyota Rav4. It needs to have a round 7 way due to brake controller and power trailer brakes. It looks like all your kits are 4 way connectors. Do you have a 7 Way?

In order to equip your 2010 Toyota RAV4 with a 7-way socket to enable you to pull a trailer with electric brakes you will need a few items. First you will need to install a 4-pole flat wiring harness (unless there is already a working 4-pole on your vehicle). I suggest the custom-fit TowReady harness # 118412. This harness installs without cutting into your vehicle's wiring by plugging in at your tail light assemblies.
You will next need to add an electric trailer brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7. This complete kit includes a circuit tester, the 7-way socket, wiring, connectors and circuit breakers needed to allow installation of a brake controller. I have linked both a video and an article on how to install the # ETBC7 kit.
Last you will need a brake controller unit such as the popular and reliable Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 to power your trailer brakes. I have also linked an install video for this excellent brake controller.
