Weight Distribution Recommendation For 2001 Ford F-250
Question:
I am looking for a weight distribution system. I have a 2001 F 250 and have a 24 foot loaded 5,500 pound trailer. Tongue weight with the addition of weight in the tow vehicle is about 700 pounds. Which type of the system would you recommend. I use a 2 5/16 ball. Looking for the most affordable but good. thanks,

When choosing a weight distribution system for your 2001 Ford F-250 and trailer, you will want to choose the best system you can. I recommend getting a system that also has sway-control. Together, these systems will provide a smooth, level ride and stop the sway caused by crosswinds and large passing trucks. I have attached a couple of helpful articles that explain weight distribution and determining tongue weight you can check out.
I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, part # RP66084. This system will give you the ability to tow your trailer much more smoothly and also give you the sway control to help keep everything on the road. And with the system able to handle tongue weigh capacity between 600 and 1,200 lbs, you will have the ability to add cargo to your vehicle or trailer.
If you decide you want a weight distribution system without sway control I recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank, part # RP66542. This has the same tongue weight capacity and towing capacity as the # RP66084.
