Thule Hitching Post Bike rack part # TH934XTR Recommendation for Mazda CX-9 Carrying Beach Cruisers
Question:
Hi - I am looking at the Thule hitching post bike rack to put on the back of my Mazda CX-9. It has a 1 1/4 inch hitch. I have a womens beach cruiser, and my girls also have kids size beach cruisers and one hybrid bike. Can we it all of those on this rack and do we need an adaptor of the girls bikes?

First thing you need to do is determine the total weight for all of your bikes. I know beach cruisers can be heavy so you will want to make sure that all of your bikes weigh less than the 165 lb capacity this rack has. If you have the capacity you should have no problem using the Thule Hitching Post Bike rack part # TH934XTR on your Mazda CX-9. I attached a review video that shows this rack being used on a similar CX-9 as yours.
Since you plan on carrying women's and children's bike you probably will also need a Thule Adapter bar part # TH982XT to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
