Can Curt 2-Inch Hitch Extender # C45796 Be Used on 2007 Hummer H2
Question:
im looking at the c45796 2 inch hitch extender for my 2007 h-2 because my spare tire is close to spare need more extension my gvwr is 3500 and tounge weight shows not to exceed 2100 lbs will this be heaver enough to work

If the hitch on your 2007 H2 is a 2-inch size then you can use an adapter/extender like the Curt Hitch Extender # C45796. However, you need to be aware that use of any extender will reduce your hitch's tongue weight and towing weight ratings by 50-percent.
This loss of hitch capacity results from the change in the geometry of the forces on the hitch. In the same way that slipping a length of pipe over a tire iron gives you more leverage to loosen a stubborn lug nut, using an extender on a hitch will place greater stresses on the hitch.
So, for example if your hitch has a 500-lb tongue weight rating (as indicated on its safety sticker) then when you use the Curt extender its capacity will drop to 250-lbs. You will need to be sure that your application will not exceed the reduced hitch capacity.
