Will Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera System Block Spare Tire Access
Question:
I am looking at the HM50002 back up camera system I want to install it on a 2008 super duty crew cab long bed but I have concerns that the passenger side sensor will cover the hole in the bumper used to lower the spare tire. Do you have dimensions on this product that reference from the tag mount holes? Also will this product plug into the factory FORD tow package It has the 7 pin plug already? Thanks!!

My contact at Hopkins said the Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 would cover the spare tire access on your 2008 Ford Super Duty pickup. However the backup camera plate can be easily and quickly removed by removing two screws to access the spare tire when needed.
I have linked to a video of the installation of the backup camera system on a 2004 Ford F-250.
The backup camera has a simple plug-in installation plugging inline with your existing 7-way trailer connector with no splicing, while letting you retain use of your factory 7-way plug at your bumper.
