How to Secure Removable Cargo Box from Rola Tilting Enclosed Cargo Carrier

I am thinking about the Rola Tilting carrier with removable cargo box and using it with my Class B RV. I would like to be able to remove the box and secure it at my campsite while I drive around the area. Is there a way to secure the the cargo box to a tree or other object?

The Rola Tilting Enclosed Cargo Carrier # 59109 that you referenced does come with locks to secure both the lid of the cargo box and to secure the box to the tray portion (using the same key) but it does not have a built-in facility to allow the box portion to be locked to a stationary object such as a tree at your campsite.

I checked with my contact at Rola and confirmed that no optional lock kit is offered for this item for that particular application.

However, it is certainly possible for you to modify the box for this purpose by drilling through the rear or side surface to install a lock hasp or u-bolt to allow use of a cable lock like the 10-ft Long Cable Lock # e98891. We offer a range of u-bolt hardware, such as # 7163183UB.
