Installation of Curt Wiring Harness # 56146KIT in 2013 Toyota Sienna

Question:

I have a 13 Toyota Sienna and hooked up my hitch. Working on the wiring now and was wondering what the 6 and 12 pin connector image 1 was and if I would need a new kit if It goes to the battery? I have code Code: 56146KIT - should I get another so I dont have to wire with up to the battery with these connectors I presently have? Any idea on where this goes and what it goes to? Image 2 is the battery, many hookups to the positive presently on this next to new vehicle.

Thank you for your recent purchase of hitch receiver and wiring harness from etrailer. The Curt Wiring Harness # 56146KIT is a correct fit for your 2013 Sienna. Thank you for submitting your two photos.

This trailer wiring harness installs primarily at your Sienna's tail light assemblies and one additional connection for +12V power is made to the vehicle battery through the included fuse holder. I cannot tell from your first image exactly where on the vehicle you found those connectors.

The vehicle wiring you need to concern yourself with is what connects to each of the two tail light assemblies. These are the points where you will use your circuit tester (included in the wiring kit) to confirm the vehicle wires that carry each of the lighting functions that need to connect to the harness. The other connection made at the battery (using the included wire and fuse holder) provides the 12-volt power that operates the harness.

The linked video will show you the basic steps for installing this Curt harness; the vehicle is different but the process will be essentially identical to that shown in the video.
