Expert Reply:
The Curt Folding Cargo Carrier for 2-Inch Hitches # C18151 that you referenced will fit the 2-inch hitch on your MDX. It provides 9-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the carrier rail when folded up in its storage position and 19-inches of clearance when it is down for carrying your cargo.
You can take one simple measurement of your vehicle to confirm if this amount of clearance will be enough for the carrier to safely clear the back of your MDX. The linked article illustrates how to take this measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the vehicle.
If your measured distance is less than 9-inches then you can be sure the carrier will clear the back of the vehicle even when folded up in its storage position. I have linked an article that will give you some additional background information on cargo carriers.
