Equipment Needed For Flat Towing Vehicle Behind Motor Home
Question:
I need to understand what I need to tow a car behind my motor home.

Helpful Expert Reply:
To flat tow a vehicle, you'll need a hitch on the motor home, a towbar, a base plate kit installed on the tow vehicle, a tow bar wiring kit so that the taillights on the vehicle work along with those on the motor home, safety cables and a supplemental braking system.
You'll also need to determine if your vehicle is capable of being flat towed, or if it must be modified in some way in order to flat tow it safely.
I'll link you to some of our help articles about flat towing. If you could reply with the year, make and model of the vehicle you are wishing to flat tow, I'd be happy to make some more specific recommendations for you.

I have a 2003 Coachmen Catalina Sport Motorhome Ford E450. I would like to buy a 2007 Ford Fusion SE- 3.0 v6 with automatic transmission. I want to flat tow it. Can I tow this car since it has an automatic transmission? I want a vehicle tow bar and the light package. Would this work for me?Thank You
