Rooftop-Mount 2-Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2012 Honda CR-V with Factory Roof Rack
Question:
I have a 2012 Honda CR-V with factory roof racks. I need to be able to carry 2, 10foot long 30inch wide fishing kayaks. The stacker racks look like they would do the job. What would you recommend? Thank you for your help.

The Thule Stacker Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier # TH830 that you referenced offers up to 4-kayak capacity and is designed to fit most factory-installed roof rack crossbars. It is compatible with 10-foot-long x 30-inch-wide fishing kayaks; I confirmed this with my contact at Thule. Please note this carrier requires that the factory crossbars on your CR-V have a center-to-center spread of 24-inches in order to mount properly.
The Stacker does come with 1 pair of ratcheting tie downs, 2 straps, and buckle protectors but I suggest that you use additional cargo control tie-downs such as the Erickson Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps # EM31352 to ensure safe transport.
You may also be interested in a tire step, such as the HitchMate # HE4040, which slips over a rear tire to give you better roof access for loading and unloading your kayaks.
