Access to Reverse Light Wire on 2007 Honda Pilot for a 4- to 5-Way Adapter for Trailer Surge Coupler

Question:

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot with a 4 wire trailer wiring, factory installes . I ordered your Adapter 4-pole To 5-pole Flat dt to control the hydraulic surge brakes I had installed on my boat trailer to keep them from coming on when in reverse. My question is because the backup lights are in the rear hatch with the wiring going under the roof liner where can I find the reverse wire without removing the head liner?

Normally you could use a fuse tap and tap into the reverse light circuit fuse to get the signal needed. But on a 2007 Honda Pilot the reverse light fuses have other functions on them so that would not work. If you can access the wiring directly behind the reverse light (like if you were going to change out a bulb) then you could get it there instead of having to remove the headliner. If you cannot access the wiring there either then removing the headliner is the only remaining option.
