Shorter Leaf Springs
Question:
E-tailer recommended 24 7/8 inch long leaf springs for my 5th wheel. But the ones I took off measured around 27 inches. As you can see by the photo, I have installed 1 and am trying to install the other, but it seems too short to reach the equalizer. Please help Thank you

Hey Dave, thanks for reaching out and your purchase of the 24-7/8" Long 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 7,000-lb Trailer Axles # e64SR.
It isn't uncommon for leaf springs to stretch out some overtime, but a 2" difference is a bit much which is why we stress removing the load from leaf springs and measuring center eye to center eye prior to purchasing. The closest thing we have to the length you're needing and the weight rating of what you purchased is part # e94SR which measures 26" long and is rated for 6,000 lbs. If you can confirm what the exact center eye to center eye measurement is on your older springs as well as the weight rating of your axles I can see if we have anything else that matches better.
I looked to see if we had anything in our fitguide for your 2016 Keystone Montana Fifth Wheel or if a customer service rep helped you with the purchase but I'm not seeing either of these to be the case. When you say we recommended this leaf spring to you, do you remember how it was recommended? Was it in one of our answer pages or from the Google home page?
