Can You Use Multi-Purpose Grease On the Curt A20 Hitch

Question:

In a bit of a pinch with timing, Just installed the Curt A20 in our truck and I thought it was pre-greased etc and I can wait to do everything at the next site. We are planning on using the new hitch tomorrow morning. Can I use the Shell Rotella Heavy Duty Grease that I use on Brake bearings for the A20 Jaw Pivot Point using the grease gun? “ Jaw pivot points Lubricate Before each use Use a grease gun to apply grease to both zerks located on the front of each jaw. The jaws must be in the closed and locked position for the zerks to be accessible.”

Steve, you can use multi purpose grease like the LubriMatic Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # L11316 or the Shell Rotella grease you're talking about. The only caveat to that is, if you're lubricating any polyurethane components, you'd need to use white lithium grease # L11354.
