Replacement Brakes, Hub/Drums, and Leaf Springs for a Kodiak Ultimate 3221RLSL

Question:

I have a Kodiak Ultimate 3221RLSL travel trailer. Dry weight almost 7500 lbs. Tag list the axle as 4400 lbs., 10 brakes on 15 wheels 6 on 5 1/2. I spun a bearing and was disappointed when getting replacement parts that the spindles and hubs were 1750 lbs. rated. Makes no sense. I dont trust it now. Thinking about upgrading but my axle must be nonstandard because my spring center is 68 1/2 with my 86 1/2 hub face. Is this available? Will 12 brakes work ok with my 15 wheels? Also my springs measure 26 eye to eye but they may be straightened a little from load and use. I look forward to your input. Thanks

Hey David, thanks for reaching out again!

I definitely hear where you're coming from and I don't blame you for not trusting your 4,400 lb axles. Whenever I've looked into parts for them everything seems to be a hodge-podge of pieces fitted together just to say something is rated for that 4,400 lbs.

With that being said, since you have a unique spring center measurement you will either need to special order an axle or you can use a Timbren system like the Axle-Less # ASR5200S01 rated for 5,200 lbs, but you'd have to replace both axles with this kit so it's a much higher up-front cost.

If you switch to 12" Brakes # AKEBRK-7-D and Hub/Drums # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K they will fit just fine with your 15" wheels, and then for the leaf springs I recommend using the 26" long part # e27SR rated for 4,500 lb axles.

I like the axle-less suspension system but the price is pretty restrictive. Is there an upcharge for the custom axle and what are the lead times?

@David Pricing is a big factor when it comes to the Timbrens. Sorry I didn't clarify in my post above; we unfortunately don't handle custom axle orders so that will need to be done through a local RV dealer or trailer shop.
