Does Curt Echo Brake Controller Require Headlights to be On and is iPhone App Still Buggy
Question:
Does the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller #C51180 work on a 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe when the lights are in "auto mode" or do the lights need to be turned on? Also, I have read that the new app OneControl does not work very well and does not allow manual override one touch button with an iPhone. Any updates on that issue?

Hey Russ, the Curt Echo # C51180 will work regardless of if the headlights of the vehicle are off or on. You might be thinking of RV cameras that require the running light circuit of the tow vehicle to be on to be active but the Echo does not look at that circuit at all basically.
I found the review where someone was having issues with the Lippert One Control App which was dated February of 2024. I looked up the app revisions of the One Control for iPhone and it's been updated twice since then so it's safe to say the problem would be gone. We also don't know for sure which app version that specific customer was using but best case scenario he was two versions behind what is out now. Last update was March 26 of this year and is 1.0.9
