Are Friction Pads or Lube Plate Needed for 18K Demco Hijacker Autoslide

Is it recommended to use friction pads with a demo 18k auto slider hitch?

Hey Tom, thanks for reaching out!
You'll want to either use a lube plate or some grease with your 18K Demco Autoslide # DM8550034. Even though the pin box stays captured and stationary in regards to its position to the hitch head, you'll still be coupling and uncoupling which can wear on both the pin box and the hitch head over time.
I recommend using the Curt Lube Plate # C16722 for your application because it's easier to mess with than grease and it's big enough to cover the whole Demco Hijacker hitch head.
