Does Jensen Heavy-Duty Mechless Marine Stereo Need Antenna
Question:
Hi, I just had this stereo installed on my Can am side by side. When installed I was told that I do not need an antenna as it has an internal one. After trying it out, reception is very poor. Do I need an antenna?

Hey there Hilda, thanks so much for your purchase of the Jensen Heavy-Duty Mechless Marine Stereo # JHD40BT.
Technically you were told correctly - it does not need an antenna to operate, but if your reception is weak, I do think it's a good idea to add one. The right part for your stereo is the Jensen Marine Antenna # 1181067.
This will plug into a connector coming out of the wiring on the back (see photo), so you'll have to have it removed temporarily if it isn't currently accessible.
