Cargo Carrier Recommendation for 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited That Allows Rear Cargo Door to Open

Question:

From the Wrangler video it appears that the raised shank will not allow enough tire clearance for the cargo door to open when the carrier is not loaded... Is it possible to assemble with the shank inverted, or is it welded in position. If not, what 500 lb. carriers would you recommend that would not need to be removed to open my cargo door? Thanx,

Check out the 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18145. We installed this carrier on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and determined that with the carrier installed the rear door was able to open. I attached a video that shows this. Fast forward to the 1:12 second mark to see the door open with the carrier installed.

This cargo carrier has a 500 lb capacity.

The Reese Cargo Carrier part # 63153 that you referenced could not be installed inverted so I would not recommend it for you.
