Hey Mark,
On-board LP tanks typically have a POL connection so you can install the GasStop Emergency Propane Shut-Off Valve Gauge - POL Connection # GS84FR between the regulator and tank. This has a gauge so you can get an idea of how much propane you have as well as an automatic shut off feature in the event of a leak. If you press down on the gauge 4-6 times the gauge should give you a fairly accurate reading of the tank so that you can be mindful of when you need a refill.

When you say press on the gauge 4 to 6 times do you mean the black tab on the gauge with the wires comeing out of it?
