Are Resistors Needed When Changing a Trailer Tail Lights From Incandescent To LED?

Question:

I have heard that when replacing an older lighting unit that was not LED with an LED unit that If upgrading form halogen bulbs to led, you may need resistors to splice in or you may have hyper flash on your turn signal. Is that the case with this unit? If so what do I need.

The hyper flashing issue you are referring to is not typically found on trailers and is more of a vehicle issue. Since the power sent to the trailer gets its signal from the vehicle the trailers lights like the # CE86FR are going to flash at the same rate as the vehicles lights flash. This happens on the trailer regardless if they are LED or Incandescent. An issue some newer vehicles have is they sense the LED lights as a bulb out issue. These would require a Adapter # 20142 if you have a tow vehicle with the sensitive electronics.
