What Wiring Kit Do I Need To Tow A U-Haul Trailer With A 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC
Question:
I have a 2017 Mercedes GLC 300 and am trying to figure out which wiring kit I need to tow a 6x12 uhaul cargo trailer. I purchased my hitch with yall, Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2inch and I now need wiring. Im not sure if I can use my tail lights, but I just need some answers about which direction to go and maybe so videos for install. Thanks!

Hey Megan, I can definitely help set you up with a wiring kit for your 2017 Mercedes GLC 300. Your GLC is the SUV correct? If so, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118747. This will give you a 4-flat plug, which is the same plug used on the U-Haul cargo trailers. This is a standard T-harness so installation will be pretty straightforward. You will plug in behind the taillights on each side, and you will run a wire to the battery to power the converter.
I am afraid we do not have any videos for this particular wiring kit. I have linked the manufacturer instructions for you below. We do have a video of a similar wiring kit, the Curt # C59496, being installed on a 2022 GLC. Keep in mind though, the Curt # C59496 is a hardwire harness instead of a plug-in harness like the Tekonsha # 118747 I recommended. So, it should give you an example of the install process, but the plug-in harness will be an easier, less invasive install.
You can feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions.
