How to Disconnect Glove Box Strut for Air Filter Replacement in 2020 Chevy Bolt EV
Question:
At the 2 minute 10 second point in the video Rob identifies a rod that help prevent the glove box from ping. Advice is to slide the rod out. My 2020 Bolt EV rod has a little tab that prevents sliding it. I tried using pliers to squeeze the gap closed but not luck. See photos of my vehicle and compare to your video. Advice PLEASE? Thanks

That little tab is also in the video for the # 3513932C. It is possible to get the strut off here but it can be a real pain sometimes. Since yours isn't cooperating you can try a different method to remove the arm. There is an additional pin holding the arm in place at the other end which is easier to deal with. You will need to reach up on the right side closest to the door to access it and the strut will pop off to the left.

Hi Robin, There is not another strut. The photo I sent was the strut on right side closest to the door. Any other advice?
