Replacement Pin Box For 5TH Wheel With Lippert 1116 Pin Box To Connect To Gooseneck Hitch Ball
Question:
Hi, I am thinking about changing my hitch set up on my fifth wheel and I wondered if you possibly give me some information. I am currently running an Anderson ultimate hitch on a Lippert 1116. My trailer is 16,030 fully loaded. My problem is my pin weight with the Anderson positioned where the trailer is closer to the truck I am at 2,510, and if I position it the other way I am at 2,410. I was hoping to go with something that goes directly to my goose ball.

The best option is to use the Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301 as this is currently the only replacement pin box approved by Lippert to not void the frame warranty on your 5th wheel camper. Do understand that this pin box does have a maximum trailer capacity of 16,000lbs so it will only slightly reduce your maximum loaded capacity.
You will need the Safety Chain Kit # RP49151 since you are switching to a ball connection and all ball connections require safety chains by law.
