Are Gooseneck Trailer Couplers Swapped as a Way to Steal Trailer

Question:

I watched a video concerning Gen Y hitch lock and the suggestion to pair it with a lock for a locking pin above the coupler so that the thief cant put their own coupler in and drive off. I have a dooseneck hitch on a Sundowner Santa Fe horse trailer . What locking pin would I purchase for the locking pin above the couoler?

Hey Susan, so we don't have any locks designed to lock a gooseneck coupler's inner tube to the outer tube that is welded to the trailer chassis so the best option we have would be a wheel lock like the part # 288-02020 which will prevent the wheels from rolling which would be just as effective as a theft deterrant.

I wouldn't say that coupler swapping is a common theft tactic at all so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
