Troubleshooting Roadmaster Battery Disconnect Not Working After Transmission Work
Question:
Hello, I have the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Item # RM-766, installed on my Ford Fiesta, a 2011 model. It was installed at an RV repair facility along with the base plate and wiring kit. I recently took the car to Aamco transmission for some work, and when I got the car back the disconnect did not work. It would make a clicking noise when pushing the button, but the electric system remained energized. Where should I start to trouble shoot this?

Expert Reply:
AAMCO most likely disconnected it when they did work on your vehicle since most vehicles require disconnected the battery before doing so so my guess would be that they forgot to reconnect it at the battery upon completion of the work so you should check there. Also make sure the wiring connections at the battery are made tightly.
