Parts Needed To Upgrade a 4-Way on a Motorhome To 7-Way With Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2001 Monaco executive on a roadmaster chassis. I’m interested in the Curt Echo inline wireless brake controller. I pull a triple axle trailer. I currently do not have a 7 wire plug. I have a 4 wire and the coach is NOT pre wired for a brake controller. I know I will have to come up with the additional wires for the 7way. My question is could the Curt inline be wired in by removing the plugs on both ends and made to work? If not what would be my best option to add a brake controller? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Rather than pulling apart the connectors on the Curt Echo # C79DR you could use the Harness # 20147 to connect to your 4-way wiring and run the additional Charge Line # RM-156-75. Then you would be able to simply plug in a 7-Way # PK11893 or 4/7-Way # HM40975 if you still want to have the 4-way for other connections.
