Is There a Plug-In Adapter for a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder With Factory Tow Package

Question:

Hi! We have a nissan pathfinder SL with a tow package, but no brake controller. I was able to identify the connector behind the kick panel. I was looking at Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Dash Knob - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional, but it has without tow package. If i have a tow package and a connector already, is there a different product id need? i have a picture of the plug that might help.

There aren't any plug-in adapters for your 2023 Nissan Pathfinder unfortunately, so you'd have to use the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR that comes with the brake controller.

You could also use the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 which plugs into a 7 way trailer outlet, which I'm assuming you have since you have the factory tow package. But, if you don't have one you're going to need to add one with # ETBC7 if you plan on using a brake controller.

I have the Redarc tow pro liberty and I bought the TPH-O25 to connect since there is no plug and play option. But for the life of me I can’t figure out how to wire it to the electric brake jumper that comes with the 2023 pathfinder. I have spent countless hours searching. Are there wiring instructions on how to connect the two?

@Jen Hey Jen sorry to hear about all of the trouble you're having but I was actually able to find the wiring diagram and instructions pretty quickly on Redarc's website. The instructions go as followed: 1. Determine the desired mounting locations for both the Tow-Pro Main Unit (up under the dash) and the Remote Head (in reach of the driver) as per the Tow-Pro user manual, but do not mount or plug in yet. 2. Find a suitable 12V trailer stop lamp signal source to be used for the 12V Vehicle Brake Light Trigger. For more information follow the instructions in the Tow-Pro product manual. 3. Connect the RED wire from the TPH-025 to the 12V trailer stop lamp signal identified in step 2. 4. Connect the BLUE wire from the TPH-025 to the trailer socket. The PIN to connect to may vary depending on how your trailer has been wired, this PIN must connect to your trailer brakes. 5. Connect the WHITE wire from the TPH-025 to a suitable GROUND point on the chassis, this wire should NOT be connected directly to the Start Battery negative terminal. 6. Connect the BLACK wire from TPH-025, through a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker (as per the diagram on the previous page), to a permanent 12V supply sourced from the Start Battery. 7. Mount the Remote Head and connect the communications cable supplied in the Tow-Pro kit. 8. Plug the TPH-025 in to the Tow-Pro Main Unit and mount the Tow-Pro Main Unit a per the Tow-Pro Instructions. 9. Complete installation of the Tow-Pro electric trailer brake controller and perform test procedures as instructed in user manual. I've also gone ahead and attached the wiring diagram to this answer for you to check out as well.
