Curt Trailer Hitch vs. etrailer Hitch For 2024 Ford Explorer
Question:
Looking at the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches for the 2024 Ford Explorer. Looks like these are...pretty much the same or the same? Is that right? Any big differences or anything?

You've got yourself a good eye, Ben, as there is just one little difference between the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches for your 2024 Ford Explorer, which is the finish; if you take a look at the diagram I made for you, you should be able to see the slight difference in the finish. The etrailer hitch has a matte black finish, while the Curt hitch has a glossy black finish. The hitches that fit your VEHICLE are the following part numbers:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # CU78FR
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e29YR
The matte black finish does hide those inevitable small scuffs a bit better than the glossy finish, though if you don't feel strongly either way about the finish just go with the best price, especially because only the receiver will be showing with either hitch installed on your Explorer.
I also wanted to mention that if you plan on towing with your '24 Explorer and don't have a factory trailer connector, the correct wiring harness is the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat # C56093.
