Replacing Tail Light On Roadmaster Tow Dolly and Have White, Brown, Yellow and Black Wires

Question:

I have a Roadmaster tow dolly which I am replacing the passenger side tailite. There are four wires-white ground, brown marker and tailite, and yellow turn signal but there is also a black wire. Where do I connect that to and what is it for? Thank you for your help.

The black wire on Roadmaster tow dollies like the # RM-2050-1 will go to the electric trailer brakes. On some units they use a blue wire as well but it does not sound this way on yours. You do have the other wiring correct where white is for the ground, brown for the tail lights but yellow should be for the Drivers Side Tail Light # RM-300220-40 and green for the Passenger Side Tail Light # RM-300220-30. Do understand if you have an older trailer it may have been modified in which case it is best to trace/test the wiring to ensure their functionality.

If all 4 of the wires are going into your tail light please send me images of your lights, wiring and the different connectors so I can have a visual of what is going on for your specific tow dolly.
