Can 5 Foot Long, 3,000 Pound Capacity Roller Bunks Support a 5,000 Pound Boat
Question:
The bunks are shown as being five feet long capable of supporting 3000 pounds I have a bunk trailer with twelve ft long bunks. If I install two pair of these ten ft of roller bunk on each side will they support a 5000 pound boat? Or will the first fwe rollers fail when loading?

Expert Reply:
The capacity per set of roller bunks, # DL21741, is 3,000 pounds. A 5,000 pound boat would be too heavy even though not all of the weight would be applied to all of the rollers all of the time. You would need additional support to ensure that nothing fails.
Additional rollers placed side by side could be one solution. The rollers can mount directly to a flat bunk or you can use brackets, # DL21742 (4 per pair of rollers).
