Where To Wire A New RV Stereo System To For Power In Your RV
Question:
im looking to replace my jensen awm970 and read that the jensen jvm62a is a good match. my current radio is wired with both battery and switched power. it looks like the jvm62a only has switched power. does that mean i have to have the ignition switch of the rv on in order for the radio to work?

If you wire the Jensen RV Stereo w DVD Player # JWM60A to the ignition or an ignition switched fuse then you would need to have the ignition on in order for it to receive power. Most people will wire this stereo system either directly to the battery (with an inline fuse) or to the DC distribution panel, which is also ran to the house battery for power. This would mean as long as the house battery has power the stereo would be able to function with or without the ignition on.
