Is it Possible To Switch Hubs on a Axle With 4 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern to a 4 on 4" Bolt Pattern?

Question:

Yes I have an older boat trailer for a 14 ft Jon boat, it has a 4 on 4 and a half lug pattern and I’m not able to find rims for it. Would I be able to change just the hub assembly to a 4 on 4 or would I have to change the whole axle ? Thanks

Depending on your axle spindle you may be able to change your existing 4 on 4-1/2" hub to a 4 on 4" hub. We have a hub kit for a 1" BT8 Spindle # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K or a 1-1/16" BTR Spindle # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-2K. If you can provide me with either the serial number off your axle or the bearings used on your hubs I can verify if either of these will work. Otherwise I will need to know the width of your axle hub face and the spring center measurement to verify if we have a replacement axle you can use.
