The reason the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller # 39523 is not working on your 2014 Ram 1500 is that time-delayed controllers will not work on the 13 or 14 Rams.
I spoke to my contact at Tekonsha about this and he told me that the reason for this is that the stoplight circuit of the 13 and 14 Rams is so weak that it doesn't activate the time delayed controllers. Your controller will take 18 milliamps to activate, which is more than your vehicle produces. A proportional controller like the Prodigy P2 controller part # 90885 would only take 1 milliamp to activate so it would work for your vehicle and would be what I would recommend.
The Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter part # 3023-P that you most likely used to install the # 39523 would also work with the P2.
