Design of State of Texas Flag 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover # HTCC11805

Question:

It appears that there is a clip where the locking pin is supposed to pass through the receiver to the hitch. Am I looking at this wrong?

Expert Reply:

You are absolutely correct that the State of Texas Flag 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover # HTCC11805 comes with a plastic clip inside the shank portion. This part is easily removable and is included so that anxious and proud Texans can install this Texas Flag hitch cover as soon as they receive it, even if they do not have a standard steel hitch pin or hitch lock.

We do offer etrailer.com lock # e98880 to secure this hitch cover. If you have a factory hitch with a receiver tube exterior that is wider than the usual aftermarket hitches (some Toyota trucks for example) then we offer an extra-long lock, part # e98881.
